As a mother of six children educated by Murray School District teachers, I have a deep personal connection to the success of our schools. With 10 years of attending board meetings before I was appointed to the board, 15 years of service on multiple community councils at the elementary and secondary levels, and 20 years of extensive experience as a classroom volunteer, along with being a former PTA president, I bring valuable insights and experience to the board.
Throughout my time in education, I've had the privilege of contributing to several meaningful initiatives. One of my proudest accomplishments was helping to develop a school-wide behavior plan and reward system at Viewmont Elementary. By partnering with community volunteers, we created a positive and rewarding environment for students through weekly incentives and creative activities.
I'm also particularly proud of securing a grant to bring a White Ribbon Campaign to Viewmont. This program equipped students with essential digital safety skills, empowering them to navigate the online world responsibly.
Teaching Biz Town lessons to fifth graders for five years has been an absolute joy. Watching these young minds step into the roles of CEOs and employees has been incredibly inspiring.
And of course, I'll always cherish the friendships I've formed along the way. These experiences have not only shaped my professional journey but have also enriched my life in countless ways.
